Blog Post 6

This paper made me think about things that I have not thought of before. When I am eating a meal, whether it be chicken or steak or whatever, I never think about the animals the meal came from. This paper used the emotional appeal I believe to make me feel something to prove a point. Hearing about the lobster made me feel really bad and awful for eating not just lobster, but any meal that came from an animal. In regards to the animals feeling pain, I believe that they do. Animals have nerve tissue and brains. Therefore, they are most likely able to feel pain even if they cannot communicate it. If you step on a dog’s paw it will whimper because it can feel pain. I do not think that we should feel bad though. Hunting the weaker species has been around since the beginning of time, so we are not doing anything different than our ancestors in that respect. This text also made me think of Red Lobster and the lobsters in the tank. They obviously have to kill those lobsters which I never thought about until now. I do not think I will go into Red Lobster the same.
