I ran into number three “commit to a single viable topic: what are you most curious about” and an idea popped into my head. I started to think about biomedical engineering and the different subfields within. I still am unsure which route I want to pursue with my major so I figured if I wrote a research paper on my one area of interest within my major I could see if I saw a potential to do that in the future. I’ve always been interested in tissue engineering and more specifically stem cell research. In the book it asks if there are appropriate sources for the topic. I know there is a lot of controversy behind stem cell research. That alone will give me tons of sources on the topic and potentially create a research question or argument. In the book it talks about starting to find research and where to look. I figure the BMES website would possibly contain good information. Also, my engineering professors could also provide helpful information. There will be a lot of sites about the Human Genome Project and I will just have to figure out which are worth using and which are maybe not so reliable.
